Mini-Reunion with HIA batchmates in Houston, TX

Houston, the fourth-largest city in the USA and the largest city in the state of Texas was where our mini reunion with HIA Batchmates was held last Nov. 13...
We met up with three former classmates at Discovery Green Park, took some pictures,
and had snack at The Lakehouse Waterside Cafe, which is located within the park, while reminiscing our wonderful grade school years.
After that, we had dinner at Kim Son Restaurant in Bellaire Boulevard, which is said to be the best dim sum place in Houston.

We really had fun! It was nice to see good people form the past! Truly a memorable day for everyone!

Camping at Loyd Park

We didn't get enough from our camping last September because of the hot weather, so we decided to do a fall camping at Loyd Park in Grand Prarie, TX. This is a peaceful and beautiful park on the shores of the 7,000 acre Joe Pool Lake. It offers a wide variety of activities for campers including fishing, swimming, hiking and biking. The terrain is flat and heavily treed with campsites near the water as well as off the water in the trees. It has 221 very spacious and well maintained campsites complete with water and electric hookup, fire ring and covered picnic table.

Loyd Park is such a great choice for anyone looking for some camping fun!

Cooper Lake State Park Camping

This year, we had our summer camping at Cooper Lake State Park which is a 3,026 acre-park  situated in Northeast Texas.  This prime recreational area contains a 19,300 acre lake and two units, Doctors Creek Unit, 715.5 acres, located in Delta County, and South Sulphur Unit, 2,310.5 acres, located in northern Hopkins County.

We had a great time at South Sulphur Unit which offers 14 fully furnished lakeside cabins, 21 screened shelters, 89 water and electric campsites and 20 equestrian campsites as well as a 10.5 mile equestrian trail. The park also has fishing piers, two boat ramps and a large pavilion.

I would recommend Cooper Lake State Park - South Sulphur Unit to anyone who is looking for the ultimate fishing, hiking, camping, all around family and friends fun place!

Texas - The Place To Be

Texas is the second-largest US State by both area and population, and the largest state in the contiguous United States. The name, meaning "friends" or "allies" in Caddo, was applied by the Spanish to the Caddo themselves and to the region of their settlement in East Texas. Located in the South Central United States, Texas is bordered by Mexico to the south, New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2), and a growing population of 24.7 million residents.

Texas is a big state, some say it's like a whole other country. Well, that is the truth let me tell you...and it has a lot of beautiful tourist attractions that are so interesting to visit.

My husband & I, together with our eldest daughter moved here from the Philippines in 2004. We've been to other states like Louisiana, Oklahoma, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Philadelphia, Washington D.C.,New Jersey & New York...but for us, Texas is the place to be ♥♥♥
